Tropical Storm Gordon made landfall near the Mississippi/ Alabama coast on the evening of Tue Sep 4, 2018 as a strong tropical storm with maximum sustained winds estimated at 70 mph.

Gordon generated a storm surge between 2-3 feet above normal astronomical tides along the U.S. Gulf Coast. The highest observations were measured at both Dauphin Island, Alabama and Shell Beach, Louisiana, were surge levels reached 2.88 ft.
